22nd March 2017 - Statement from Chairman of Roxton Parish Council:

Dear Roxton Parishioners

Regarding the Highways England's public exhibition held at Wyboston Lakes we thought that you might be interested in hearing our recommendation on which option for the Black Cat to support.

After careful consideration of the potential impact of the three options it is our opinion that Option B will have the least impact on Roxton and we will therefore be recommending our preference for Option B to Highways England.

We have spent many hours with senior representatives from Highways England and it is a fact that the other options are much bigger and taller and will result in a significant negative impact on Roxton.

For example the estimated height of the other options is 14m or taller than 3 double decker buses, this will result in a massive increase in road noise and light pollution not to mention the physical scale and the visual impact this will have on our rural landscape.

We recognise the issues raised by these proposals are complex and that is why we are holding a open event on Monday, 3rd of April in Roxton Village Hall from 5pm to 8pm giving you the chance to tell us of your concerns. In the meantime we recommend that you consider the overall impact of the other options and also offer your support to Option B

Statement from Roxton Parish Council re:

A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Scheme:

8th March 2017

Dear Roxton Parishioners,

As some of you may know Highways England recently published three options for the future of the A428 from the Black Cat Roundabout to Caxton Gibbet and for the Black Cat Roundabout itself.

After careful consideration of the options for the Black Cat we have significant concerns about the accuracy of the information that the public are being invited to comment on. In our opinion the information has a number of inaccuracies and discrepancies and therefore we are seeking urgent clarification from Highways England. In conjunction with Wyboston, Chawston and Colesden Parish Council we have requested an urgent meeting with Highways England to clarify the errors in their proposals.

Highways England are hosting a number of public exhibitions planned over the coming weeks, the first is on the 21st of March 2017 at Wyboston Lakes and we would urge you to attend these events, we hope by then that the errors will be corrected and if not then we recommend that you submit your frustration to Highways England about the misleading information.

Regarding the options themselves it is our opinion that without the errors in the information being corrected it is not possible to comment on them.

Finally the next Roxton Parish Council meeting is on Monday the 13th March starting at 7:30pm in Roxton Village Hall, all are welcome and hopefully we can update you on any progress made.

Cllr Justin Griffiths

Chairman of Roxton Parish Council

Old Nuttalls Site

Following a recent complaint regarding motorcyclists gaining entry to the Old Nuttalls site, the police attended and warned the bikers that they were trespassing. They claimed
to have permission but this is not the case.

As the fence has been broken down to gain entry, the trespass is a criminal
matter and hence we have a new crime number 123 2/10/2016. If anyone phones 101
and quotes this number then the police will provide an immediate response. The site owner will visit the site this week to repair the broken fence in order to prevent further access for motor bikes.
